Impressive Crab Imperial

Wednesday evenings are always interesting around our place. . .it's 'Manly-Night.' While I'm at Trivia Night with my team, Hubster and Buddy-D talk about manly things such as hunting, while preparing and enjoying a man-style meal (this usually includes steak, something fried, and no vegetables. . . )

Every once in awhile, their menu intrigues me enough to hang around for a taste. . . such as the evening when they made

Crab Imperial

1 pound crabmeat (canned is fine)
1 egg
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1 Tbsp lemon juice
1 tsp Worcestshire sauce
1/2 tsp Old Bay Seasoning
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
1/2 tsp dry mustard
1/4 cup bread crumbs
3 Tbsp butter
1 tsp paprika
1 tsp chives

Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

In a medium bowl, beat egg, combine crabmeat (I think it's so interesting how crabmeat is packed in a can),

mayonnaise, lemon juice, Worcestshire sauce, Old Bay seasoning, salt, cayenne pepper, and dry mustard.  Mix thoroughly

Pour mixture into an 8" pie dish, top with bread crumbs, dot with butter, and sprinkle with paprika and chives

Bake in preheated oven for 20 minutes

Spoon out portions

to serve - I added salad to *my* plate;-)

and watch how quickly it disappears

Personally, I thought it was tasty as a wee-side dish. . . but the fellas were absolutely enthralled with it as a topping for their grilled steaks and cleaned up the rest as a dip with saltines.

Have a Crabby kind of day ~
