Foodie Friday. . . Spring to Winter

New recipe for tonight - some marinated grilled shrimp with lots of garlic, cayenne and red wine.  Will let you know how it comes out.  Got to use that grill tonight because, if the weather forecasters are right, we'll be frozen and buried under snow tomorrow.  Well. . . not quite, but it'll be bad enough we won't be outside grilling, that's for sure.  6- 8" of snow is what's currently predicted, with a high temperature of 34 degrees - which was our low last night.  ick!

Last night was a tasty meal of some beef filets wrapped in bacon and grilled veggie packets ala Robin - that means there were diced red potatoes, baby carrots, green olives, fresh cracked tellicherry pepper and a drizzling of olive oil.  Wrap it all up tightly in foil and toss it on the grill.  So tasty when served with a dollop of sour cream.

Tomorrow night will be corned beef, baby red potatoes, and brussels sprouts.  Okay, I know, usually it's cabbage, but we have some brussels sprouts that are ready to be used up so we thought we'd try it.  They're baby cabbages, right???  I think I'll also serve some fresh sliced tomatoes on the side.  Celebrating St. Pat's Day!  I haven't figured out a good 'green' dessert yet- but no worries.  I'm sure I will.  If it's wintery outside, I'll have plenty of time to think of something inside.  So much for the first day of Spring. . . .

Today felt so much like Saturday that I just can't shake that feeling.  Wondering how bad off I'll be come Sunday. . . think I'll try to work?  Oh no!  NOT THAT!!  hehehe.

Ran quite a few 'fun' errands out and about.  Nice to drive around town with the windows down.  There was a lot of traffic - and a lot of windows down.  LOVELY day!  Tomorrow is our community's Irish parade and pub crawl.  Too bad you can't order the weather, eh?

Have a green-kind of weekend ~
